Viktoriia Onopriienko is a Ukrainian rhythmic gymnast. She started rhythmic gymnastics at the age of four. Onopriienko took part in her first senior European Championships in Varna in 2021. ????????‍♂️
Together with her teammate Christina Pohranichna, the two were selected to represent Ukraine at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Onopriienko was the youngest individual competitor in rhythmic gymnastics. She qualified in ninth place for the all-around final, which she ultimately finished in tenth place. Onopriienko then won her first medals at the 2023 European Championships in Baku - the gold medal in the hoop competition and the bronze medal in the team competition. ????????
She also won the bronze medal in the individual club competition at the 2023 World Championships in Valencia. ????

Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Onopriienko had to leave Ukraine in March 2022. Since then, she has lived and trained in Italy. She also lost important people in her life as a result of the war and had to give up her home country. The young athlete finds support and strength in sport and therefore continues to train for her goal of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
