Emotional farewell for Kroos in our last league game of the season!

Toni Kroos experienced an emotional tribute at the Santiago Bernabéu in what was his last game at our stadium. The German, who announced his retirement from professional football after Euro 2024 on 21 May, was given an emotional farewell by his teammates and the Madrid fans. The Santiago Bernabéu welcomed Kroos in the build-up to the game against Betis with a large banner bearing the midfielder's image and the 22 titles he has won so far at the club, which read: ‘Thank you legend’. The Real Madrid players, wearing shirts with the number 8 shirt, and the Betis players formed a guard of honour for the German. The fans gave Kroos a standing ovation in the 86th minute when he was replaced by Ceballos. The extraordinary German player left the pitch as he hugged all of his teammates one by one, as well as Carlos Ancelotti and the rest of the coaching staff.
